From recreation and sports to music festivals and holiday celebrations, the year brings a variety of activities for residents and visitors to enjoy the community's small-town hospitality and charm.
The natural beauty and serenity of Walnut Creek Linear Park is highlighted each January as Mansfield celebrates its parks system and encourages healthy living with the annual Winter Walk. The community walk along the trails of Walnut Creek Linear Park draws walkers, runners and bikers to Mansfield, and ends with a health fair at Town Park. In 2017, the event was expanded to include a 5K Run.
One of the most honored one-city, one-book programs in the country takes place each April. The month-long event asks residents to join together to read the selected book and participate in discussion groups and other special activities. Mansfield Reads! culminates in an evening with the featured author. Several best-selling and award-winning authors have come to the city to share the community's love of reading.
Pickle Parade & Palooza
The spring fun starts in March with the annual Pickle Parade & Palooza in historic downtown. Start by running in the Pickle Palooza 5K, 10K or Kids Fun Run, followed by watching the World's Only St. Paddy's Pickle Parade, and then enjoying the the after-party on Main Street in historic downtown Mansfield.
Wisteria Street Market
Wisteria Street Market is an arts & crafts fair held at the Mansfield Activities Center every May. Families can enjoy shopping with the arts & crafts vendors, food free make-and-take crafts, kids activities, and more!
Rockin' 4th of July
It's rockets, recreation and rock n' roll in Mansfield each July. Rockin' 4th of July has quickly become a favorite of residents and visitors who gather at Big League Dreams Mansfield Sports Park to celebrate Independence Day. There's food, family entertainment, and live music leading up to the spectacular fireworks display, regarded as on of the best in the region.
Music Alley - Music and Arts Festival
Music Alley is a music and arts festival hosted as a partnership between the City of Mansfield and Mansfield Commission for the Arts. The festival is held in September and includes live music from a variety of genres, food, interactive art displays, and family-friendly activities.
Boo Bash is a great alternative to going door-to-door. Bring the family and meet your friends for a night of games, crafts, snacks, and Halloween candy. This carnival-style event is geared toward children ages 2-6 years old, and all ages are welcome. Boo Bash is held the Friday before Halloween at the Mansfield Activities Center.
The holiday season in Mansfield kicks off the first weekend in December with Hometown Holidays, a community-wide celebration that begins on Friday night with the lighting of the city Christmas tree, visits with Santa Clause, fireworks, food, music and family entertainment. On Saturday, historic downtown Mansfield comes alive with the sounds of the season at the Hometown Holidays Parade as floats, horses, marching bands, and Santa take to Main Street. On Sunday, The Mansfield Women's Club hosts the annual Tour of Homes, showcasing some of the city's most beautifully decorated homes.
