Linear Park Trail - Mansfield, TXWalnut Creek Linear Park

The Walnut Creek Linear Park opened in January 2007 and consists of a 12-foot wide concrete trail that extends from Town Park to James McKnight Park East along Walnut Creek. The trail is 1.9 miles long and connects five parks, three neighborhoods and two schools.

Trail heads can be found at Town Park, Katherine Rose Memorial Park, Hardy Allmon Soccer Complex, Palm Court, James McKnight Park West and James McKnight Park East. Amenities along the trail include bird watching stations, overlooks and picnic stations.

Perfect for a leisurely nature walk, more vigorous hike or a scenic jog. The trail throughout the nature park has many branches including the Boardwalk and Bird Blind Trail. The primary loop is one mile in length and winds through the Treehouse Overlook, Windmill, Amphitheater, Rocky Ford and Wildflower Meadow.

pond branch trailPond Branch Linear Park Trail

Mansfield's newest trail is located in Historic Downtown with the primary trailhead entry at 199 E. Broad St. The trail is approximately half a mile in length and passes under a beautiful tree canopy and right by the creek. Most importantly the trail serves as an easily manageable pedestrian connection for Historic Downtown Mansfield and crosses under Broad St., allowing walkers to easily get from The Backyard down to the rest of the area.
