Spring 2024 Event Calendar

The Kids Business Fair is a fundraiser for Wild Oak Academy in Mansfield. All of the booth fees will help support our mission to nurture the hearts and minds of our students through small class sizes, individualized attention, and play-based learning. The fair is open to all makers and entrepreneurs ages 5 to 17! In addition to great shopping, enjoy the food, entertainment, raffles and more!

 

This family-friendly event is all about making sustainability fun! Explore a range of activities including kids crafts, face painters, pony rides, a petting zoo, and engaging educational experiences. Get up close with cool trucks at Touch-a-Truck, indulge in delicious food and beverages, enjoy live music, browse through product vendors, participate in the rain barrel auction, witness a magical butterfly release and much more!

Skip the Siesta and join our Fiesta! On Friday, May 3rd, from 4 PM to 7 PM, our office, will transform into a vibrant celebration of giving and community spirit! Bring your appetite and your pantry donations because we're serving up tacos! That's right, we'll be trading taco plates for food donations! It’s not just about food – we’ve got the entertainment covered too. Bring the whole family and join in on the fun with a fun bounce house, lawn games, a pinata, and more.

 

Join us for History Talks: Fact Checking for Fictional Novels at the Man House Museum. As part of Historic Preservation Month, D. Preston Davidson, author of the Nahum Putney books, will be speaking about the research he's done into local history for his novels. D. Preston Davidson is a retired Deputy U.S. Marshal who spent 31 years in law enforcement and has hunted fugitives across the United States. This event is free and while no registration is required, seats will be first come, first served. Art Therapy Workshops with Heidi Tournoux Studios

Temper tantrums, stress responses, and the inability to regulate emotions is just as common in adults, as it is in kids! This workshop will introduce participants to the process of felting, and we will use that skill to make a model of the brain. Our workshop host, Heidi Tournoux-Hanshaw is a board certified, registered art therapist, and a licensed professional counselor supervisor, and this workshop qualifies for 3 Texas LPC CEs.

Historic Downtown Car Show

Join us in Historic Downtown Mansfield for a historic car show as a part of Historic Preservation Month. It will be a great time enjoying the car show, and complimentary cocktails while shopping with participating businesses. There will also be live music and food trucks for the whole family to enjoy.

 

Get ready for a fiesta like no other as we bring together vibrant music, mouthwatering food, with a variety of vendors bringing you their art, crafts and artisanal treasures plus FREE Lotería!

 

We've traveled the world and now it's time to come home! Join us for a slice of Americana, with music representing parts of our great country. Also featuring a performance by our 2024 Alan Wilbourn Young Artist Solo Competition, Grace Lipscomb - trombone. Admission is free!

 

Come and join us for our 2023-2024 season finale! We are thrilled to have our Mansfield Philharmonic Chorus on stage for the first time, along with wonderful soloists Heather Hawk, Johnny Brown, and William Derusha for Haydn's The Creation. FREE ADMISSION!

 

The biggest event of the year is almost here! Join us to celebrate our favorite wings of spring...the monarch butterfly! We'll have crafts, games, a story walk, and a butterfly house you have to see to believe! Offsite parking at Willie Brown Elementary School with free shuttles running to the park continuously from 9am-12pm. Free event but preregistration is strongly encouraged.

 

Come add your own work of art to Historic Downtown Mansfield by participating in our Chalk the Walk Contest. Decorate the sidewalks of the historic downtown district using chalk in this free, family-friendly contest. To participate in the contest, sign up here. Pre-registration closes Friday, May 3, 2024, but you can check-in when you arrive.

 

History Hunters, working as individuals or in teams, can start the hunt between 1:00pm and 4:00pm on their journey through Historic Downtown Mansfield to solve clues and complete challenges to unravel Mansfield’s early history. Teams will be awarded prizes for the most points gained during the Hunt, including for creativity and historical insights. To pre-register, click here. Pre-registration closes Friday, May 3, 2024.
