March means spring, and there are plenty of activities to choose from, including things to do for spring break!
Saturday, March 4th - MISD Multicultural Festival - 11:00am-3:00pm - MISD Center for the Performing Arts
The MISD Multicultural Festival is the district's way of embracing the many cultures represented in the community of Mansfield ISD. The Center for the Performing Arts will be transformed into a festival of food tastings, and cultural performances by our very own student's. The halls will be filled with family activities and games from every continent, and it's all FREE! Click here for more information.
Saturday, March 11th and Wednesday, March 15th - Kayaking at Britton Park 10:00am-11:30am
In this brand new program, we will go out in dual-seated kayaks on Joe Pool Lake. An instructor will guide you on safety and proper technique. Registration is required, and is appropriate for ages 7 and up. Click here for information on pricing and how to register.
Monday, March 13th - Painting at the Park 10:00am-11:30am
Join us for a painting class at Oliver Nature Park with an artist. You will be led step-by-step by an instructor throughout the class. This class features a butterfly and is for ages 5 and up. Click here for information on pricing and how to register.
Tuesday, March 14th - Wild About Nature 1:00pm-2:00pm
In this class, we will earn about local wildlife than inhabits Oliver Nature Park. You will get an up close look at animals and meet our Wildlife Ambassadors. This class is suitable for ages 2 and up. Click here for information on pricing and how to register.
Thursday, March 16th - Spring Scavenger Hunt 1:00pm-2:00pm
Come see Oliver Nature Park during spring to explore how nature changes and adapts to the season. Enjoy a naturalist-led walk with a purpose of searching, examining, learning, and checking off the unique spring finds on your provided scavenger hunt list. Thursday, March 16th - Rain Barrel Making Class 3:00pm-4:00pm
Have you ever wondered what rainwater harvesting is and how to do it? Our Water Utilities Division will be teaching us all about harvesting rainwater and its importance. Guests will make their own 55-gallon rain barrel to take home - one barrel and all supplies are provided. This class is geared towards adults and older children, and each adult may bring up to two family members to learn, and help make the barrel. Thursday, March 16th - Third Thursdays Mansfield 5:00pm-8:00pm
Join us downtown on for our 2nd annual Lucky Egg Hunt and Night on the Town! There will be over 500 eggs hidden, special promotions at local businesses, food trucks, and vendors. Visit our Facebook page for updates and detailed information.
Friday, March 17th - Rock Art 1:00pm-2:00pm
Have you noticed painted rocks throughout Mansfield? Join us at Oliver Nature Park, and paint your own rock to hide. Each registered participant will receive two rocks to paint. Saturday, March 18th - World's Only St. Paddy's Pickle Parade & Palooza
The day kicks off with the Pickle Fun Run, 5K, and 10K runs starting at 8am, and continues all day with activities, shopping, food, entertainment, and the Pickle Parade. Click here for all the info and a link to sign up for the races.
Thursday, March 31st - A Taste of India 5:30pm-8:30pm
Join Chef Adair Smith of Savvy's Bistro & Mansfield ISD at the Ben Barber Innovation Academy as he takes us on a culinary tour of India.
